During the course of any project, there are times when it feels as though little progress is being made, and that time and energy focused on problem-solving do not produce a tangible result. This project, "Touch and Go", creates a space where a person can have an immediate and tangible effect on their surroundings. Through the use of carefully mapped string and movable foam balls, a simple sliding motion changes the nature of the entire space, encouraging people to duck under and dive through the new openings and boundaries they created. The design of the space was informed by the study of smoke and its ephemeral and fluid nature.
